Light brahma chickens : Coastal offers light brahma light chickens to their customers. This breed of chicken is ideal for raising in backyards. The name of this breed is associated with the Brahmaputra river of India. These chickens probably came to USA in sailing ships during the 19th century , or may have been bred from other Asian breeds. Hens usually lay about 200 medium sized brown eggs annually. These chickens are docile and gentle.
Golden Polish chickens : Despite the word Polish, Golden Polish chickens did not originate in Poland. This breed of chickens originated in Spain and was brought to Holland where the Dutch perfected their coloring through selective breeding. This breed was named after the feathered caps of the polish army as their appearance is similar to the feathered crests of the Polish soldiers. These birds arrived in the United States mainly during the 1830s and 1840s. These birds are docile.
Delaware chickens: Delaware chickens were developed in the state of Delaware by George Ellis during 1940. They are hardy birds. This breed matures quickly, and hens have good egg layers. This breed prefers free-ranging environment Delaware chickens are also calm and docile by nature.
Speckled Sussex chickens: Speckled Sussex chickens actually originated in England near AD 43, thus making them one of the oldest known breeds. The most common color of this breed either dark brown or mahogany colored feathers. The speckles become more prominent as the birds multiply each year.
